So I got a ship I am working on at the moment the kit is from revell of germany and features a metric ton of oars and shields. As well as fun with rigging and a pretty ludicroius decal for the sail which luckly some days is my style but it would look more at home on a football team jeresy then a sail on a scale model.
So far it’s been fun I have most of the sub assembly done and will be ready to paint the next while then I am on to the run of rigging. Its one of those wierd subjects I was always facinated with but have never actually done it. It looks like besides a deep knock out mark on the mast I wont need to do much filling work. There has been little flash to remove and the mold lines scraped away nicely. Not much left to do on the main body before paitning except add blocks for the rigging in the back. The shield and oars will be painted sperately then added.
All in all a good simple build to get back into a hobby I used to love. the only tools I am useing right now are a xacto blade and some glue I find you dont need much more then that for assembly unless you have shallow recess lines that need to be scribed deeper.
